Bio

With her warm and dynamic voice, Calysta Cheyenne has been singing the Great American Songbook and other jazz standards in Oregon venues since 2005. She grew up listening to and is heavily influenced by Ella Fitzgerald, Julie London, Peggy Lee and Billie Holiday. She has practiced Seth Riggs’ Speech Level Singing Technique for nearly 20 years with Ken Orsow in Ashland, Oregon, attended Berklee College of Music where she studied vocal jazz performance with NYC vocalist Alison Wedding, and recently completed a workshop with award-winning jazz vocalist and educator Alexis Cole.

In addition to jazz, Calysta is both vocalist and frontwoman of Oregon-based bands SugarBeats and Fortune’s Folly, and has performed up and down the East and West coasts. Notable appearances include performing as the support act with the Flat Five String Band for Big Bad Voodoo Daddy at the The Britt Music & Arts Festival in Jacksonville, Oregon and playing Main Stage at Oregon Country Fair with Fortune’s Folly. She is currently living, performing and writing music in Portland, Oregon.
